6.  Registration

  • Registration will open early January.
  • Registration is due by January 31, 2017.
  • Registration site:  http://rcxrobot.org/
  • The RCX robotics coach is responsible for all registrations for their school.

  • On Deck line up area will be in the hallway outside the gym, near the front of the school (Not the hallway with the concession stand.)

9. Access

  • Wireless access will be available
  • Each table in the pit area will have access to electricity.

10.  Items to bring with you

  • Robot - fully charged and packed safely in a box for traveling.  (I have seen teams accidently drop their robot)
  • Wireless device so you will have access to the Google Docs used to show which team is Up On Deck and the Team Rankings by round scores.
  • Student Information - Make sure your students have transportation. Bring emergency contact information for your students with you.
  • A fully charged laptop - Make sure you have logged into your laptop at your school. Once you are not on your school network, your computer will not know who you are if you have not logged into it (at least this is the case with Fayette County). It would be a good idea to make sure you can log into that computer when it is not on the school network.  If you have questions, contact your School Technology Coordinator.
  • Saved missions - have a backup on a flash drive and/or the laptop
  • You may want to bring a surge protector to help you reach an electical outlet and have multiple plugins that may need to be shared with others.
  • The USB to connect your robot to your laptop
  • Spare AA Batteries and the back to the brick (just in case you need it)
  • A robot repair kit with different LEGO pieces
  • Any attachments that your team has designed to use for missions
  • Students may want to bring money for concessions or plan to pack some snacks.
  • Remember you may NOT bring a competition mat.

11.  Sensor Readings

  • If your team is using sensors and needs a sensor reading from the competition tables, go to the tables before the competition begins.

12.  Nametags

  • Each student and adult will wear a school-created name tag.

13.  Clean up

  • Students must clean up all materials and trash at the table upon departing. (Bring a garbage bag.)

14.  Results

  • Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in the Gym. The times will be posted above in "Times."
  • The top teams from each division will be recognized and will qualify to move on to the state competition on April 12, 2017 at the STLP State Championship, Rupp Arena, Lexington.
Elementary division = 5 teams to state
Middle School division = 2 teams to state
High School division = 0 teams to state, no high school teams competing
  • Copies of the score sheets will be emailed to the coach in the week following the tournament.
